Which podcast platforms can I paste links from?
Apple Podcasts episode links, YouTube, a direct link to the MP3 on your host, and many other public episode pages work. Spotify does not: its audio is protected and its links are refused, so find the same episode on Apple Podcasts or the show's website. Playlists, whole feeds and several links at once are not supported; paste one episode at a time.
How long does it take to transcribe a podcast episode?
A typical episode is ready in minutes, not hours, and longer recordings take somewhat longer. Episodes of up to 6 hours are accepted on every plan. The free plan runs one transcription at a time; paid plans run five at once, which helps when you work through a back catalogue.
Can I transcribe an episode that is private or not published yet?
Yes, if you upload the file. Links to private feeds, members-only episodes or anything behind a login cannot be fetched, but an unpublished episode sitting on your computer can be uploaded directly: MP3, WAV, M4A or another common format, up to 500 MB and 6 hours long. That makes it easy to prepare the transcript before release day.
Does it work with a host and several guests?
Yes. Speaker identification labels each voice as Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, on every plan; on the paid plans you rename them to the host and guest yourself. It works best when people take turns. Crosstalk, laughter over speech and remote guests on weak connections make labels and words less reliable, so check those passages.
Can I create subtitles for a video podcast?
Yes, on a paid plan. Upload the video cut of your episode or paste its public YouTube link, then export the transcript as SRT or VTT and add it to YouTube or your video editor as captions. The free plan exports TXT only. Subtitles are a separate file; Hear2Text does not burn them into the video.
How accurate is podcast transcription?
Up to 99% on clear audio, and 95–99% is a fair range for a well-recorded show. Accuracy drops with music under speech, guests talking over each other, distant microphones, echoey rooms and heavy accents. Names, brands and jargon are the usual misses, so read the transcript once and fix them in the browser editor before you publish.
