Which Spanish accents does it understand?

All the major ones, on clear audio. Spanish from Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Chile, the Caribbean and the US goes through the same Spanish model; there are no separate dialect models. Neutral, clearly spoken Spanish gives the best results. Strong regional accents, heavy slang, fast conversation and background noise all lower accuracy, so plan to review those transcripts in the editor.

How accurate is Spanish transcription?

Accuracy drops with background noise, music under speech, people talking over each other, distant microphones and strong accents. Can it transcribe recordings that mix Spanish and English?

Partly. The language is detected once for the whole recording, so a mostly Spanish recording is transcribed as Spanish. Short English words and phrases, like brand names or a quick “okay, so”, often come through fine. Long stretches of English inside a Spanish recording may be transcribed poorly or rendered as Spanish. For recordings split evenly between both languages, expect to do more editing.

Does the transcript use Spanish punctuation and accents?

Yes, as a rule. The transcript is written in standard Spanish spelling, with accented vowels such as á, é and ó, the letter ñ, and punctuation added automatically, usually including the opening ¿ and ¡ marks. The model can occasionally miss an accent or an opening mark, especially in long run-on sentences, and you can fix any of these directly in the transcript editor.
