Almost any recorder app works, because Hear2Text reads the audio file rather than the app. That covers iPhone Voice Memos (M4A), Samsung Voice Recorder and other Android recorders (usually M4A, MP3 or AAC), plus MP3, WAV, OGG and OPUS files. Save or share the recording as a file, then upload it.
How long can voice memos be?
Up to 6 hours per recording and up to 500 MB per file, on every plan. The free plan gives you 120 transcription minutes every week, resetting on Monday; the paid plans at $9.99 a month or $89.99 a year remove the weekly cap, with a fair-use limit of 1,200 minutes a day.
Can I transcribe while recording?
No. Hear2Text does not transcribe live or in real time. Finish the recording first, in Voice Memos, your phone's recorder, the browser recorder or the Hear2Text app, and then send it for transcription. A typical memo is ready within minutes, not hours, and every segment of the transcript carries a timestamp so you can jump back to the moment in the audio.
Does it work with poor audio quality?
Yes, but accuracy drops as the audio gets worse. A memo spoken close to the phone in a quiet room usually lands at 95 to 99% accuracy. Wind, traffic, music, a phone left in a pocket or people talking over each other all lower it, and Hear2Text does not clean up or enhance audio. Hold the microphone near your mouth, then fix any missed words in the browser editor.
Can I organize transcribed memos into folders?
No, Hear2Text does not have folders. Each transcript is saved to your account, so you can open it again, edit the text or ask the AI assistant about it later. To file memos by project, export them (TXT on the free plan; Word or PDF on the $9.99 monthly or $89.99 yearly plan) and keep them in the notes app or folders you already use.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. The Hear2Text app for iPhone and Android records a voice note and sends it for transcription, and the same transcripts appear when you sign in on the website. You can also skip the app: open Hear2Text in your phone's browser and upload a memo straight from the Files app, or record in the browser itself. An account is needed either way; the free plan needs no credit card.
